Every July, the NBA Summer League becomes the first professional test for dozens of players leaving college basketball. A college basketball career normally lasts four years.

Freshman, sophomore, junior and senior year. Four seasons to learn, develop, prove your value and prepare for the professional level.

Basketball Scouting Service has now completed the same journey.

The senior year is over. Now it is time to go pro.

Four years ago, I started sharing player evaluations as a personal scouting project, under a different name and without knowing exactly where it would lead.

There was no audience, no database and no commercial structure. Just an interest in identifying players before their rise became obvious to the wider market.

Over time, that initial idea became Basketball Scouting Service.

I developed the work publicly, following players from the NCAA into their first professional seasons and expanding the coverage across different European markets.

The website grew. The database expanded. Reports, watchlists, shortlists and weekly analysis became part of a structured scouting service used by basketball professionals across different leagues.

Most importantly, the work produced proof.

The track record now includes dozens of players identified before their rise to higher levels.

That has always been the foundation of the project: recognising potential early, understanding how a player’s game can translate to a different environment and looking beyond his current status or market value.

But these four years also helped me understand where that work can create the greatest impact.

A Free Resource for Clubs Monitoring the Market

Every summer, clubs receive player names from agents, recruiting services, personal contacts, and public databases.

The Available Players List was created as a free scouting resource for coaches, and front offices looking to monitor players currently available for professional opportunities.

The objective is simple: provide an additional source of information during the recruitment period.

Each player included in the list has been reviewed before being added and is presented through an independent scouting report rather than promotional material.

The list is updated regularly throughout the summer as new players become available and additional profiles are reviewed.
