One year ago, I published a scouting report focused on 10 rookies entering the BNXT League.
The goal was not simply to list new names coming from college, but to identify which profiles were worth monitoring early in their professional careers and which players had the potential to move to a higher level after adapting to European basketball.
The report included 10 players, with individual scouting notes, strengths, weaknesses and projections.
For anyone who did not have access to it at the time, I’m now making the full report available for free. One year later, several of those players have already made significant jumps.
One year later
Looking back at the group now gives the report a different perspective.
Rasheed Bello has made the biggest jump, moving to Virtus Bologna and reaching EuroLeague level. Dante Maddox earned a move to Tortona after establishing himself as one of the most productive guards in the BNXT. Tytan Anderson moved to Peristeri, another significant step into a stronger competitive environment. Jalen Blackmon has continued his career in Russia, while Zeb Jackson has also moved into the Greek market.
The most interesting part is not simply where those players ended up, but how quickly several of the profiles identified one year ago have already moved into clearly higher-level situations.
That is the value of early tracking.
The real value is not identifying a player once his production makes him obvious. It is building the file early enough to understand his role, strengths, limitations, fit and realistic next step before the market fully reacts.
The original report was built exactly with that objective. Maddox was projected as a player capable of contributing at higher European levels, Anderson as a versatile forward with room to grow beyond the BNXT, and Bello as a high-energy guard whose quickness, defensive pressure and scoring versatility could translate into a bigger role as his consistency developed.
From public analysis to club-specific work
This season I am changing the way I use this type of scouting work. Detailed reports like this will no longer be produced regularly as broad public content.
The website will continue to feature selected scouting work, but deeper player tracking and customized analysis will now be developed around specific club needs and requests.
The objective remains the same: identify relevant players early, understand their development and provide context beyond statistics.
