INTRODUCTION
Myles Burns is an athletic wing who built his profile as a defensive specialist and high-energy perimeter player. After a dominant NAIA career at Loyola University New Orleans, where he earned multiple All-American honors, won a national title, and Defensive Player of the Year awards, he transferred to Ole Miss for his final NCAA season. In the SEC, he continued to stand out defensively, finishing with the most steals in Ole Miss senior history. Throughout his college journey, he scored over 2,000 points.
After going undrafted, he joined the Dallas Mavericks Summer League roster, was selected in the first round of the G-League Draft by Raptors 905 and later saw his rights acquired by the Westchester Knicks. He also gained international experience in Mexico’s LNBP with Gambusinos Fresnillo.
Burns’ profile is built on athleticism, length and defensive activity. He plays with high motor and intensity, generating turnovers through pressure on the ball and activity in passing lanes. His rebounding from the wing position and ability to cover multiple perimeter matchups add further defensive value. Offensively, he is most effective attacking the rim, running in transition and moving without the ball. He shows flashes as a secondary playmaker, though shot creation and perimeter shooting consistency remain areas for improvement.
Overall, Myles Burns projects as a defensive-minded 2/3 wing for entry to mid-level European leagues. His athletic tools, defensive production and energy provide immediate impact, while development as a shooter and decision-maker will be key to expanding his offensive role at the professional level.
