INTRODUCTION

Joe Octave played two seasons at Air Force before transferring to Holy Cross, where he reached double figures in scoring in both years and earned Third-Team All–Patriot League recognition. For his graduate season, he moved to Stony Brook, where he took on a larger role and finished as the team’s second-leading scorer.

Physically well built, Octave is a versatile swingman who can impact the game both on and off the ball. Offensively, he can create separation off the dribble for pull-up jumpers and is effective attacking the rim through cuts and straight-line drives. He moves well without the ball and can operate as a spot-up option on the perimeter. However, his 3-P shooting consistency declined over the last two seasons (20.8% on 3.9 attempts in his final year), with a career average of 29.7% on 3 attempts, which limits his reliability as a floor spacer. His secondary ball-handling skills are functional but not a primary strength. Assists and turnovers balance out at 1.6 per game, suggesting a profile more suited to a scoring-oriented wing role rather than a playmaking guard. Defensively, his size and frame allow him to guard multiple types of opponents on the perimeter and provide positional versatility within team schemes.

Overall, Joe Octave projects as a scoring swingman with adequate size and offensive versatility. At the professional level, he profiles as a potential contributor in a mid-to-lower European league, where his ability to score within structure and defend multiple positions can add value in a rotation role.
