INTRODUCTION

Dominique Daniels arrived at Cal Baptist after emerging as one of the top scorers in the JUCO circuit at San Bernardino Valley College, where he posted multiple 40-point performances and showed early high-usage scoring upside. At CBU he quickly became a primary offensive engine, logging major minutes and establishing himself among the most productive guards in the WAC. Over the last two seasons, he earned All-WAC Second-Team honors in 2024 and First-Team honors in 2025, also collecting multiple Player of the Week awards. With the program transitioning away from Kendal Coleman’s interior presence, Daniels projects as a candidate to rank among the nation’s top scorers in his final collegiate year.

PHYSICAL

Dominique Daniels is undersized for a primary guard but compensates with a compact and powerful build. His strong base helps him hold his line against contact and finish through traffic. He runs the floor well and plays with noticeable burst in tight spaces, using quick changes of pace to create separation. While not an explosive vertical athlete, his coordination and body control allow him to execute pull-ups and floaters effectively. Laterally, he moves well enough to stay in front of opposing guards, and his low center of gravity supports his on-ball balance on both ends.

OFFENSIVE PHASE

Dominique Daniels operates as a high-usage, multi-level scorer with on-ball creation responsibilities. He scores efficiently inside the arc thanks to pace, craft, and body control when attacking the paint. He is comfortable creating out of pick-and-roll actions, using hesitation and changes of speed to open driving lanes and mid-range pull-ups. His three-point shot remains volume-heavy but inconsistent (25.8% on 6.4 attempts per game), reflecting his willingness to take difficult looks off the bounce. Daniels generates free throws at a strong rate and converts well at the line. As a passer, he uses his scoring gravity to find teammates, posting 3.1 assists per game, though shot selection and possession management can fluctuate. His 1.8 turnovers per game on 32.6% usage indicate he can manage volume but must continue refining decision-making and off-ball reads to maximize efficiency.

DEFENSIVE PHASE

On the defensive end, Dominique Daniels provides effort and activity on the perimeter. His quick hands generate steals (1.1 per game) and he can pressure ball-handlers and disrupt passing lanes with assertiveness. His strong frame allows him to battle through screens and avoid being dislodged in physical exchanges. However, his size limits his rim defense and contest radius, making him a potential target in switches against bigger guards and forwards. He can be effective in spurts at the point of attack and turn defensive plays into transition opportunities, but long-term consistency will depend on improving discipline in rotations and maintaining focus in pick-and-roll coverages.

IMPROVED AREAS

Daniels’ scoring talent is proven, but refining shot selection and finding higher-value attempts will be important to increase efficiency at volume. Developing more consistency as a catch-and-shoot threat and reducing reliance on difficult off-dribble jumpers would raise his half-court impact. Decision-making as a pick-and-roll operator still has room to grow, particularly in reading second-level help and anticipating rotations. Defensively, staying disciplined on closeouts and maintaining positioning against bigger guards will be key to holding his ground at the next level. Continued progress in pace control, playmaking nuance, and defensive awareness will help him transition from pure scorer to a more complete backcourt piece.
