INTRODUCTION

Dallion Johnson began his career at Penn State, where he logged modest early production and faced limited minutes during his junior season after entering the rotations as a sophomore. He transferred to the Eagles, and he quickly emerged as a reliable scoring option, becoming the team’s leading scorer. Along with Keeshawn Kellman, he helped FGCU achieve a positive record (19-15) in the 2024–25 season. He earned Second Team All-ASUN honors after a season featuring consistent double-digit scoring in 24 of 34 games.

PHYSICAL

Dallion Johnson has a slender physique, smooth in his movements and athletically capable of reaching the rim. While he has an adequate size for the role, a more sturdy build could help him absorb contact in traffic. He plays with a fluid stride, able to navigate off-ball movement effectively and maintain control in traffic situations. Though not an explosive athlete, his frame offers enough strength to withstand physical perimeter battles, aided by a good wingspan. He runs the floor well, and his lateral movement is sound, yet there’s still room to sharpen quick-twitch responses. He is not always reactive, and energy and concentration can fluctuate during the game.

OFFENSIVE PHASE

Dallion Johnson operates as a high-volume sharpshooter, ranking among the Top-20 NCAA for attempted and made three-pointers (36.7% on 8.3 attempts). He excels in spot-up and catch-and-shoot situations off screens due to his quickness, but he can also create space off the dribble, although he prefers going to the rim. He has a soft touch when approaching the basket; his mid-range game is elegant and smooth, while he avoids diving into traffic, as confirmed by his limited free throw attempts (1.4 on average per game). However, he is a player who prefers to play off-the-ball, utilizing his dynamism, but sometimes he can be passive and wait for the game to come to him. He has significant areas for improvement in reading the game and managing possessions (1.2 assists against 1.2 turnovers per game).

DEFENSIVE PHASE

Dallion Johnson has a combination of athleticism and size that allows him to guard multiple types of opponents. He contributes with a good wingspan to disrupt passing lanes, although he lacks a bit in terms of reactivity and aggressiveness (0.7 steals per game). His dynamism is useful on the perimeter, where he can switch and apply on-ball pressure, as well as being a versatile element in his own half of the court. However, he is not an elite defender; he tends to have some issues with rotations and closeouts. He limits the search for physical contact, which prevents him from getting into foul trouble (1.1 per game), but this hinders the energy of the team’s defensive phase. On the boards, he is a useful presence (2.4 on average) for his position. Overall, he has significant room for growth in awareness by improving his energy and focus.

IMPROVED AREAS

Dallion Johnson must improve his decision-making and offensive leadership, becoming more proactive instead of waiting for the game to come to him. Developing stronger physicality and willingness to absorb contact will be crucial to add pressure at the rim and diversify his offensive impact. On the defensive side, he needs to raise his consistency in energy and focus, sharpening his reactivity and rotations to transform his tools into reliable impact within a team structure. For his rookie season, he is a suitable profile for a team that plays at a high pace and can allow him to take plenty of shots. By developing his current limitations, he has the potential to play in a mid-to-good level European league.
