POTENTIAL
INTRODUCTION
Jacksen Moni began his collegiate basketball career at Northern State University, where he made a significant impact over three seasons from 2021 to 2024. He amassed over 1,500 career points and 550 rebounds and earned NSIC All-Conference First Team honors in both his sophomore and junior years after being named to the Second Team in his freshman year. For his senior year, he transferred to the Bison, where he has continued to excel, playing a pivotal role on the team from the start as the top scorer and assist leader.
PHYSICAL
Jacksen Moni possesses an important presence on the court. His height, a good wingspan, and solid build provide him with a strong presence on the court. He has added muscle mass to better withstand physical contact, but he has maintained his dynamism and has remarkable body balance. While not the most explosive and vertical athlete, he demonstrates commendable mobility for his size, allowing him to navigate the court effectively. He is good at managing his energy, doesn’t possess notable rim-running qualities, and lacks something in terms of athleticism.
OFFENSIVE PHASE
Jacksen Moni is a versatile player, capable of impacting the game from both the interior and perimeter with his scoring and passing abilities. His shooting prowess is evident, with 5.5 attempts beyond the arc (35.2% over three years in D-2, 43.7% in the first 19 games with the Bison), showcasing his ability to stretch the floor. He is also effective in the post, utilizing his size and footwork to score efficiently around the basket. While he can create his own shot off the dribble, he has yet to fully acquire fluidity in his movements (2.2 turnovers per game), but he demonstrates notable body balance during contact, making him a good free throw generator (88.6% on 6.3 attempts last year). His passing skills are noteworthy; after Sam Masten left for Northern State, he became the primary player, averaging 3.6 assists per game, which indicates strong court vision and the ability to facilitate plays for his teammates. However, he could benefit from diversifying his offensive repertoire, particularly by developing a more consistent mid-range game and enhancing his ball-handling skills to create his own shot under pressure.
DEFENSIVE PHASE
Jacksen Moni doesn’t have a significant impact as a rim protector, less than one game, and neither does he in rebounding (5.3 in 28′ with the Bison, 8.1 in 35′ at Northern State). His understanding of positioning allows him to be effective in rotations and help teammates, but he lacks verticality. Overall, he is more effective on the perimeter where he has good lateral mobility and the ability to make solid close-outs. Enhancing his agility and foot speed would improve his ability to guard multiple positions and reduce susceptibility to defensive mismatches, but even now he has a good level of versatility. He doesn’t have very reactive hands and does not work much on passing lanes.
IMPROVED AREAS
Jacksen Moni has a very interesting potential; his ability to open the floor is important. He is a versatile player, capable of being useful even without taking a large number of shots. However, he needs to improve his ball-handling skills to become a threat on the perimeter in every situation. His limited athleticism and speed can be a focus for improvement; growth in these areas could elevate him to high levels in European basketball. Finally, a greater presence and energy on rebounds is currently a weakness. He has a profile that can make an immediate impact in a mid-level league, but there is significant potential for growth for a player still in development.
