INTRODUCTION

Trazarien White started at JuCo College before transferring to UNC Wilmington. Three seasons of continuous growth have led him to become one of the most impactful players in the CAA. He was named to the Second Conference Team and the Tournament’s Best Team in 2023, when he lost in the finals and missed the chance to go to the Big Dance. In 2024, he further improved his statistics and made it to the First Team of the CAA. For his final season, he transferred to a more prominent program like TCU.

PHYSICAL

Trazarien White possesses high-level athleticism; his dynamism and elevation allow him to operate around the rim. He could benefit from adding more muscle to handle the physicality of stronger opponents inside the paint. His body control and the ability to absorb contact could make a step forward with a more sculpted upper body. He runs the court well and is a player of great energy in transition situations. He has good footwork and lateral movement that allow him to have versatility in multiple scenarios.

OFFENSIVE PHASE

Trazarien White is a versatile scorer who can finish around the rim but is also improving his three-point shooting (39% on 2 attempts). He excels in transition, where his athleticism allows him to get easy baskets, and he’s capable of finishing through contact. Able to beat close-outs and drive to the rim, White also has a good understanding of spacing and moves well without the ball, making him a threat on cuts to the basket (51% from 2-P on 11.7 attempts), benefiting from having a skilled floor general like former teammate Shykeim Philips. His perimeter shooting is still a work in progress, as he needs to confirm the consistency that saw him improve from 28.2% to 39% in his new experience at TCU. Improving his ball handling will be very important for taking a step forward in terms of reliability, as he struggles to create his own shot off the dribble in non-dynamic situations and can force plays that lead to numerous turnovers (2.5 on average over the last two seasons).

DEFENSIVE PHASE

Trazarien White has a size and athleticism that enable him to guard multiple positions effectively. He is a solid on-ball defender, using his length and lateral mobility to limit his opponent’s one-on-ones on the perimeter. His quickness allows him to stay in front of guards and switch on screens without much trouble. White is also a capable rebounder for his size (6.8 per game), showing good timing and positioning to secure boards. His main area for improvement on defense lies in his off-ball awareness, as he occasionally loses focus on rotations or leaves shooters open and can be passive on passing lines. More discipline in these areas would help him become a more consistent defender.

IMPROVED AREAS

Trazarien White is a great athlete with good versatility in scoring if he can confirm his shooting consistency from three-point range. His ability to move off the ball creates many opportunities for him, but he needs to work on his handling skills to generate a greater number of shots independently. On the defensive end, he requires more discipline and focus on attention, but his athleticism makes him a potential lockdown defender. Overall, at TCU, he has the chance to demonstrate his value at a higher level, which could earn him consideration right away in a mid-to-high level European league.
