INTRODUCTION
Quinten Post began his basketball journey in the Netherlands with Apollo Amsterdam before joining ALBA Berlin’s youth program. He moved to the United States to play at Mississippi State, but after limited opportunities and just 300 minutes across two seasons, he transferred to Boston College. With the Eagles, he quickly established himself as a key frontcourt player, earning ACC Most Improved Player honors despite missing half of the previous season with a foot injury. His development reflects the emergence of a highly skilled modern center with shooting range, offensive versatility and advanced basketball IQ.
OFFENSIVE PROFILE
Quinten Post is a highly skilled offensive center with an advanced understanding of the game and excellent versatility for his size. Comfortable handling the ball against pressure, he can initiate offense and operate as a facilitator, particularly from the high post or beyond the 3P arc (3.3 assists per game through 12 appearances). His scoring arsenal combines efficient post moves, face-up situations and reliable perimeter shooting, converting 45.9% from 3P range on 3.1 attempts per game. He can also attack slower defenders off the dribble, using footwork and body control rather than explosiveness to create advantages. However, his ambitious passing and ball-handling can lead to turnovers (2.8 per game), especially against aggressive double teams. His shooting efficiency is particularly impressive: last season, he became the only Division I player to average at least 10 points while recording better than 50/40/80 shooting splits, finishing with 53.9% FG, 42.6% 3P and 86.0% FT.
DEFENSIVE PROFILE
Quinten Post provides a solid interior presence thanks to his size, positioning and ability to read offensive actions. He is difficult to move in static situations and uses his length and timing effectively as a help defender, averaging 2.2 blocks per game. However, his limited lateral quickness makes him vulnerable when defending in space, particularly against quicker guards attacking off the dribble. Rebounding is another area where his production does not fully reflect his physical advantages, averaging 5.6 rebounds per game last season, partly due to inconsistent box-outs and limited verticality. Improving defensive discipline and foul management will be essential to avoid becoming a target in pick-and-roll situations.
DEVELOPMENT AREAS
Quinten Post represents an increasingly valuable archetype in modern basketball: a skilled stretch center capable of spacing the floor, facilitating offense and scoring from multiple areas. His main development priorities are improving lateral mobility, defensive positioning and rebounding consistency to compensate for his athletic limitations. Offensively, reducing turnovers against aggressive defensive coverages would make him an even more reliable offensive hub. His combination of size, shooting and basketball IQ, together with his European passport, makes him an attractive prospect for high-level European basketball, with the potential to compete in a top-tier league as early as the summer of 2024.
