INTRODUCTION: After starting his collegiate career at New Mexico State and spending a season in a JuCo he decided to move to Iona by legendary coach Rick Pitino who made him the best defender in the MAAC 2023. Two conference titles with the Gaels and a final loss in 2022 which they accustomed him to playing at a high level and with the pressure of always winning. He will begin his overseas career with Panionios Athens in Greece
PHYSICAL: Combination of athleticism and physicality that make him a back court player who is not too tall but has a great impact. He runs the open court well in fast break situations and attacks the rim without any problem, being able to absorb contact with big men. He has a good wingspan with significant lateral mobility and reactive hands
OFFENSIVE PHASE: Good secondary handler with an assist ratio (1.9 in his last season) and turnover ratio (0.8 per match) that make him very reliable when he has to build the right play in pick and roll situations. He moves well off the ball and has the ability to take shots off the dribble although his preferred situation is going to the rim where he is able to find balance thanks to his athletic ability. He is able to go in the low post against smaller players while his shot from beyond the arc needs to be improved (26.2% on 2 attempts per game) to make him more productive in terms of scorer. Overall he is not very talented with scoring skills but he is a smart player with the possibility to attack the rim with energy
DEFENSIVE PHASE: Versatile and capable of defending against any type of opponent with a combination of energy and athleticism that allows him to both have strong pressure on the ball and be very useful in doubling with his teammates. Great intimidation skills for a back court player (1 block per game) and capable of stealing a possession per game and, as in the case of rebounding (4.2 as a super senior), can lead in a quick fast break. A player with such an impact in his own half of the floor can sometimes have problems managing fouls
The shot from beyond the three-point arc is definitely the first point to work on. He doesn’t seem to have a great margin for growth in terms of scoring but his impact in the defensive phase, if he can manage fouls, can make him a very useful player at every level. It might not be surprising to see him come off the bench of some good-high level team like defensive specialist
