INTRODUCTION: Recruited by Boston College where he played the first two years then one season in Maryland – with which he reached the second round of the Big Dance – to conclude his NCAA career with the Hilltoppers. Excellent team player, he is a glue-guy and only in single season goes in double-digits (in 2021/22 at 12.7 points per game) he never received an honorable mention or any individual award in his five collegiate years
PHYSICAL: A good athlete with a well-sculpted body, he moves well around the court and has good lateral mobility which is useful in defensive situations. Good elevation and runs the court well on fastbreaks. He showed difficulties in concluding by through contact where he struggles to maintain balance and sensitivity to find the basket
OFFENSIVE PHASE: He moves well off the ball and opens the court with his shot as a reliable spot-up shooter (36.1% on 3.4 attempts per match). He manages to be productive with cuts and hitting close-outs from the dribble, especially when he can attack the baseline, shooting discreetly from mid-range while struggling to get to the glass in traffic. He runs the court well and in fastbreak situations he doesn’t miss the opportunity to give highlights with some dunks. Decent as a facilitator (1.3 assists) but overall he is quite passive in the offensive phase and needs to be involved by his teammates to show off his good scoring skills
DEFENSIVE PHASE: The good combination of size, energy and mobility makes him a versatile defender on many opponents, able to change even on the perimeter and not look bad in mismatch situations. He can struggle in more static situations near the basket against more physical players, having shared the area with Jamarion Sharp for a couple of years has protected him from situations of that kind but denying him to be useful in rebounding (5.1 per game) and showing minimal rim protector skills
IMPROVED AREAS: Expanding the choices in the offensive phase will be important by also trying to play from the low-post and not only on the perimeter or on weak late cuts. An improved predisposition to physical contacts and rebounding presence could make him a more complete player with a good upside. He is ready for a mid-lower league to grow in confidence and then try to get to some top league as a rotation player
