INTRODUCTION

Dante Moses had a complex college experience, changing locations every year for five seasons. After Junior College, he briefly played in Division I for Radford before moving on to Division II where he played for Angelo State. Finally, he transferred to the Cowboys where he seems to have found his stride: averaging 22 points and almost 7 rebounds in the first few months, with the highlight of scoring 48 points (21/29 from the field) and 10 rebounds against South Dakota Miners.

PHYSICAL

Dante Moses is well-structured to play as a forward, tall and athletic with remarkable basic mobility; he is not particularly muscular but can endure physical contacts with some ease. Rather reactive, this helps him in rebounding, on loose balls, and potentially to ensure a defensive presence.

OFFENSIVE PHASE

A Dante Moses, the talent as a scorer has never been lacking, but the consistency in recent months has been; he is proving to be devastating in the first step and then going to the basket from mid-range or all the way to the rim if there is not a high level of intimidation. Extremely skilled at seeking contact to get to the free-throw line (against MSU Denver, he earned 17 free throws), he is also able to be productive off the ball, especially with cuts from the baseline. The three-point shot is one of the last options, and he prefers to execute it off the dribble; he is not a reliable shooter for catch and shoot, and the drop from 36% last year to the current 27% is a cause for concern.

DEFENSIVE PHASE

Dante Moses defensively is quite undisciplined when going for steals, often in an improbable manner. He has what it takes to be a valuable asset on the wings, and he is also endowed with the physicality that allows him to hold his own in switches against interior opponents. He is quite active on the boards, especially in protecting the rim, and then personally leading the transition.

IMPROVED AREAS

Dante Moses changing teams every year can be considered normal at a professional level but not at the collegiate level, and raises some character concerns about the ability to integrate into a group; offensively, he needs to improve his shooting percentages and his willingness to involve his teammates more, in this sense the 2.2 assists per game are encouraging. He also needs more defensive discipline, but his profile seems to be the right one for a solid scorer in a mid/low-level league.
