INTRODUCTION
Josh Sharkey is a handler who doesn’t reach 180 cm and shoots from outside with less than 30%, which would be enough to make you suspend your reading here. The former point guard from Samford University, however, deserves to be evaluated for his ability to slice through defenses with his penetrations that often take him to the rim, which must be paired with a certain skill in absorbing contact. He is an excellent passer, loves to play at a fast pace, and may record some turnovers. Defensively, he applies himself and can become a nuisance when pressuring the direct opponent, but given his limited size, he needs to be adequately covered when approaching the rim. He has good experience in European championships and would be a quality signing for those in need of a handler capable of creating an advantage from dribbling in any situation.
