INTRODUCTION
Chuba Ohams, undersized big out of Fordham, overcame two serious injuries that could have ended his college career. Using the redshirt rule, the Bronx native returned for a fifth year and established himself as one of the most resilient players in the A-10. His combination of mental toughness and physical recovery defined his senior season, proving his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.
Defensively, Ohams is highly active around the rim. His agility, mobility, and strong sense of positioning allowed him to average 1.6 blocks per game while consistently contesting shots and providing secondary rim protection. On the glass, he is relentless, chasing offensive rebounds to create second-chance opportunities and showing a fighter’s mentality on every possession.
On the offensive end, his skill set is more limited. The shooting range is still a work in progress, but he has shown the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack slower defenders effectively. His game is built more on energy plays, offensive rebounding, and finishing around the rim than on perimeter creation.
Although Ohams earned an NBA tryout with the Brooklyn Nets, his age and limited offensive upside make it unlikely for him to secure a long-term NBA role. In Europe, however, his profile translates well: a high-energy undersized-big with defensive presence, rebounding instincts, and intangibles that can influence winning at the professional level.
