This is not a traditional watchlist, but an early identification scan focused on Division II seniors and graduates.
The goal is to flag profiles that can realistically translate to entry-level European leagues, where timing, role fit, and cost matter more than hype or upside projections.
The list includes functional role players, athletic tools, and selected Cotonou/Bosman-A profiles, monitored with a practical recruitment lens for low-budget and development-oriented contexts.
DAY WATERS
6’4 – 193 cm – Millersville Marauders (transfer Slippery Rock) – Senior.
Back with the Marauders, he has quickly established himself as a leader on both ends of the floor. Physically well-built guard capable of covering multiple positions defensively, where his impact was immediate. Offensively took a step forward with a consistent three-point shot (40.8% on 7.1 attempts), in line with his career percentages and confirmed on higher volume. Improved rim pressure despite not being a natural handler (1.9 turnover per game). Projects as a potential 3&D guard with glue-guy value.
Key Strength: Perimeter shooting / defensive versatility
Main Limitation: Limited on-ball creation
This scan follows the same structure and evaluation approach used in the previous Division-II Early Scan List, focused on realistic European translation rather than upside speculation.
EZEKIEL CANNEDY
6’2 – 188 cm – Fayetteville State Broncos – Senior.
High-usage guard creator playing heavy minutes. Operates primarily off the dribble and in isolation situations. Shot selection needs refinement, especially from three-point range (8.9 attempts per game at 33.6%). Scoring ability is evident, but he must improve ball movement and overall decision-making. Defensively, shows quick hands and activity on passing lanes (1.5 steals). Projection as a scoring guard for mid-to-low level European leagues.
Key Strength: Shot creation
Main Limitation: Shot selection / Playmaking
RENE DIOP
6’8 – 203 cm – Fairmont State Falcons (transfer Concord Lions) – Senior. Cotonou status.
Physical inside player and efficient finisher. Active cutter and reliable roller, able to use strength to score in the post. Dynamic and reactive, with good timing on the offensive glass. Face-up-game and shooting-range are still limited. Defensively can cover space on the perimeter, but is more effective as a positional defender and as a true rim protector (2.3 blocks per game). MEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2025.
Key Strength: Finishing / Rim protection
Main Limitation: Limited shooting range
ANDREW YOUNG
6’9 – 206 cm – Missouri S&T Miners – Senior.
Fourth-year player and focal point for the Miners. Stretch-five capable of generating spacing with his shooting touch (43.4% on 3.1 attempts), while also being effective around the basket. Shows room for growth as a facilitator to increase overall impact and versatility. Lacks high-end foot speed and can be exposed on the perimeter defensively, but provides solid presence near the rim as a help defender (1.4 blocks per game). Profile suited for teams prioritizing floor-spacing bigs over pure athleticism.
Key Strength: Shooting range / floor spacing
Main Limitation: Lateral quickness
JACK BROWDER
6’4 – 193 cm – Carson Newman Eagles – Senior.
One of the top performers this season, already a First Team SAC selection last year and close to a double-double average while shooting 46.1% from three. Shot-making guard with strong rhythm, capable of creating separation and pulling up off the dribble despite limited size. Compensates with solid athleticism and good off-ball movement. Brings high energy on the glass for his position. Profile with potential impact in leagues such as Austria or Switzerland.
Key Strength: Shot-making / shooting efficiency
Main Limitation: Size to play as forward
JUSTIN HEMPHILL
6’6 – 198 cm – Daemen College Wildcats – Senior.
Complete forward and connector, MVP of the ECC Tournament and First Team All-ECC last season. Not a primary scorer, but consistently impacts the game through rebounds, assists, steals and overall feel for the game. High-IQ player who elevates the team’s floor by doing the dirty work and covering multiple roles. Lacks ideal size for a true power forward and his three-point shot has been inconsistent (27.9% career), limiting his offensive ceiling. Brings energy, toughness and strong game understanding on both ends.
Key Strength: Versatility / game IQ
Main Limitation: Scoring impact
JOSH NWANKWO
6’6 – 198 cm – Central Oklahoma Broncos (transfer Central Missouri) – Senior.
Versatile combo forward in the middle of a breakout season. Able to create advantages both for himself and teammates, averaging 3.6 assists per game. Reliable perimeter threat with consistent three-point shooting (35.1% on 3.1 attempts), combined with the ability to attack the rim. Brings energy on the defensive end and a solid presence on the glass. Still room for growth, but projects as a potential contributor at mid-to-low level European leagues.
Key Strength: Versatility / secondary creation
Main Limitation: Overall consistency
KOBE MITCHELL
6’2 – 188 cm – Walsh Cavaliers – Senior.
Proven sharpshooter with consistent production over the past seasons, earning MVP and First Team GMAC honors while shooting 41% from three on 7.5 attempts. Not a natural slasher, preferring to limit rim attacks due to size and limited contact absorption. Effective off the ball, while shot creation off the dribble remains an area for improvement. Defensively provides a solid presence. Ideal option for teams seeking a reliable three-point shooting specialist.
Key Strength: Shooting consistency
Main Limitation: Limited rim pressure / self-creation
KHARYE CAYNE
6’11 – 211 cm – Clark Atlanta Black Panthers – Graduate.
Coming off an injury-shortened season, he quickly re-established himself as a defensive game-changer. Possesses ideal size, long wingspan, and good mobility, making him a high-level rim protector (3.7 blocks per game over his career) with a solid rebounding presence. Needs to add functional strength to better handle physical contact. Offensively very limited range, operating mainly as a finisher around the rim and on put-backs, with mid-range shooting still to be developed. Raw profile, but capable of providing immediate defensive impact.
Key Strength: Rim protection
Main Limitation: Offensive skill set / shooting range
JALEN BRYANT
5’11 – 180 cm – Kutztown Golden Bears – Graduate.
High-usage scoring guard approaching the 2,000-point mark with Kutztown. Quick and aggressive with the ball, able to create separation off the dribble and consistently attack the rim despite limited size. Shot selection has improved, field goals efficiency remains inconsistent (career under 40%). Strong scorer instinct leads to heavy usage, with limited playmaking output. Defensively applies pressure on the ball (1.5 steals per game) but struggles in physical mismatches due to size. Clear offensive-oriented profile, great for entry-level European leagues looking for a pure scoring guard off the bounce.
Key Strength: Shot creation / scoring mentality
Main Limitation: Size and efficiency
JAYLEN WESLEY
6’4 – 193 cm – Rockhurst Hawks – Senior.
Good-sized guard with three-level scoring ability. Effective at creating space for pull-up shots despite lacking elite first-step speed, uses his frame well to get downhill and finish near the rim. Reliable spot-up shooter with solid percentages (37.1% on 3.5 attempts), providing offensive versatility. Needs to refine his decision-making and ball-handling (2.8 turnovers per game). Good athlete with room to add physicality; active on the glass for his position (6.2 rebounds per game). Scorer with upside, well-suited for lower to mid-level European leagues as a rookie.
Key Strength: Shot creation / scoring versatility
Main Limitation: Decision-making under pressure
ABOU CAMARA
6’8 – 203 cm – Winston Salem State Rams – Senior.
Physical and aggressive rebounder, averaging double figures over the past two seasons. Well-built body with good mobility, operates effectively as a roller and consistently creates second-chance opportunities (3.3 offensive rebounds per game). Reliable finisher around the rim (63.6% on 2PT). Offensively raw, lacks shooting range and must limit ball-handling responsibilities (2.3 turnovers per game). Defensively shows switchability on the perimeter but is more impactful near the rim, posting 2.3 blocks per game last season. High-energy profile with defensive presence.
Key Strength: Rebounding / rim activity
Main Limitation: Offensive skill set
JADIN PENIGAR
6’5 – 196 cm – Western Oregon Wolves (transfer Texas Tyler Patriots) – Graduate.
Journeyman career with five different colleges across five seasons. Well-built and versatile forward who can attack the rim and absorb contact, while also providing spacing with a reliable three-point shot (42.3% on 7.1 attempts). Comfortable exploiting mismatches and creating his own solution, but could improve ball movement and overall involvement of teammates (just over 1 assist per game in his career). Defensively able to guard multiple positions and contribute on the glass. Valuable profile for entry-level European teams looking for versatility.
Key Strength: Shooting versatility / physical frame
Main Limitation: Limited playmaking impact
