INTRODUCTION
Hakim Byrd began his college career with a strong debut at Marist, earning a spot on the 2021 MAAC All-Rookie Team. A subsequent move to UMBC in Division-I saw limited playing time, prompting a transfer to Jefferson (D-II), where he quickly became a key player. In 2024, he helped lead Jefferson to a conference title and was named MVP of the CACC Tournament. For his final collegiate season, Byrd returned to Division-I with Utah Tech, where he was a regular starter and the team’s assist leader.
Byrd is an undersized guard with consistent perimeter shooting and clear offensive instincts. He shot 36.7% from three on 3.8 attempts per game in his senior season, following an impressive 46.3% on 5.1 attempts the previous year at Jefferson.
