INTRODUCTION

A.J. Burgin is a shooting guard who completed his collegiate career with the Bengals. He has a well-built frame that allows him to absorb contact and use his strength effectively, although there is still room to improve his explosiveness and verticality.

Off the ball, he moves well and gets into his shooting spots quickly. He has a quick release and deep shooting range, connecting at a decent rate from three-point distance (34.3% on 4.8 attempts per game). He’s most comfortable in catch-and-shoot or spot-up situations, while he can struggle at times to create separation off the dribble. His physical profile also allows him to operate in the post against smaller or lighter guards, adding a second scoring dimension to his game. While he shows flashes of good decision-making in pick-and-roll play (1.1 assists per game), he still needs to develop a more secure and consistent handle.

On the defensive end, A.J. Burgin combines lateral mobility and strength to hold his own on the perimeter and can switch effectively onto forwards. At the end of his college career, he made an immediate impression at the EuroBasket Summer League, earning MVP honors.

Overall, he is a solid and reliable guard with proven shooting ability and physical tools. He profiles as a strong fit for teams competing in mid-to-lower tier European leagues.
