INTRODUCTION
Collin Holloway was recruited by Georgetown University, where he played the first two seasons. As a sophomore, he was part of the starting five, but due to the team’s poor results, he transferred to Tulane. With the Green Wave, he played alongside Kevin Cross and Jaylen Forbes. Although he was one of the most utilized players due to the conclusion of his main teammates’ college careers, he transferred again. In the intense and aggressive play of the Bulldogs, he is second in minutes played only to Rylan Jones and is the best rebounder.
PHYSICAL
Collin Holloway possesses a strong and mobile build that makes him a versatile combo forward. His physique allows him to compete effectively in the paint and absorb contact when driving to the basket. While not the most athletic forward, his strength and dynamism enable him to contribute and make him reliable on both ends of the floor. However, his size may present challenges when matched against taller, more physically imposing opponents, but his good off-ball movement helps him compensate. He has good lateral quickness, is not overly vertical, but has a solid sense of positioning.
OFFENSIVE PHASE
Collin Holloway is a versatile forward capable of impacting the game in various ways. He has demonstrated efficiency in driving to the basket, with a field goal percentage of 55.4% (6.4 attempts per game) during last season at Tulane. His ability to score both inside and from mid-range makes him a valuable asset, using good footwork and maintaining balance during physical contact in the post. However, his three-point shooting is not very consistent (33.3% on 2.7 attempts per game, from spot-up) but still sufficient to provide him with a dual threat. Holloway’s offensive versatility is further highlighted by his capacity to facilitate plays; his extra passes on the perimeter create open shots for teammates. Despite having a good technical background, he struggles to create his own shot off the dribble and is more productive when served in motion and during cuts. Decision-making under pressure (2.1 turnovers per game) is an area where improvement could enhance his offensive impact.
DEFENSIVE PHASE
Collin Holloway leverages his athleticism and strength to guard multiple positions effectively. In on-ball situations, he can be very aggressive and generate turnovers. In aggressive play, with high pressing from the Bulldogs, he shows versatility and the ability to perform thanks to his mobility. His energy can lead him to use his hands too much and have issues managing fouls (2.9 on average at Tulane, 2.4 with the Bulldogs). He has shown proficiency in rebounding, averaging 5.2 rebounds per game in the current season. While his versatility allows him to defend both perimeter and interior players, he may experience lapses in concentration during rotations and lose his mark. Greater defensive awareness could further solidify his defensive presence. Overall, he has the tools to be a defender, if not elite, at least of a high level.
IMPROVED AREAS
Collin Holloway should focus on improving his perimeter shooting, as becoming a more reliable three-point threat would expand his offensive impact. His ball-handling and shot creation need refinement, allowing him to be more than just a finisher off movement. Defensively, working on discipline and off-ball awareness would help him stay engaged and reduce unnecessary fouls. By developing these aspects, Holloway could solidify his role as a solid two-way forward capable of contributing efficiently in multiple systems. Overall, for his rookie season, a mid-level league could see him as a glue guy. In a lower-tier league, he could post notable stats with potential double-doubles.
