INTRODUCTION
Martaz Robinson is a combo guard from Delaware State. In the 2024/2025 season, he will complete his college career with his fifth year at Delaware State. Over the years, his role has grown increasingly important, and in his last season, he was named to the First Team All-MEAC.
Robinson has excellent scoring abilities (15.9 points on 12.7 shot attempts per game) rather than being a passer and playmaker (2.2 assists per game). He has an excellent mid-range jumper, while his three-point shooting is inconsistent (31.9%), with only 2.8 attempts per game. He’s a good penetrator who can finish in the paint, although he sometimes forces plays (2.6 turnovers per game), especially after a missed shot or a no-call on the previous play. As mentioned, he’s not a primary playmaker and could benefit from being paired with a guard (or point guard) with strong playmaking skills. He is a good communicator on the court. Lastly, he’s an excellent rebounder for his height of just 6’2″ (6.5 rebounds per game). At Delaware, he is the primary ball-handler, although he often plays off the ball.
He is an average 1-on-1 defender but has quick hands, enabling him to steal 2.0 balls per game.
