INTRODUCTION
Ubong Okon is a Nigerian inside player who, after attending JuCo, transferred to the Hornets. In his first season, he showcased elite defensive potential, excelling as a rim protector and rebounder. With a significant size and good athleticism, he has ample room for technical improvement, as he is still raw. Offensively, he is a solid finisher (56.9% from 2-P on 2.1 attempts), but his shooting range is limited in the paint; he can establish position in post-up situations, but his footwork and coordination need to be more reliable. Energetic and present on the offensive boards (3 on average last season, 6.3 per game), his mobility and wingspan also make it difficult for opponents to avoid him on defense (1.2 blocks in 18 minutes of play). He faces greater challenges on the perimeter; he has good athleticism but relies too much on his hands, and his foot positioning during switches needs improvement to avoid foul troubles (2.7 on average last season). In his senior season, he can make a significant step forward, making him very interesting for a mid to low-level European team where he can continue his growth process, the ceiling of which could also be surprising.
