INTRODUCTION
Japjit Gill is an American floor general with an Indian passport. Having played in Community College, NCAA D-2 at Holy Names, and now finishing his NAIA career at Dakota State, he was instrumental in the Trojans’ return to the playoffs after a 7-year drought, leading in assists. A first pass handler, his playmaking abilities make him productive in pick and roll situations or in finding teammates cutting to the basket. While he’s accustomed to fast-paced play, he’ll need to develop patience in structured offensive sets. He is productive from beyond the three-point line, both in catch and shoot situations and in creating his own shot off the dribble using a teammate’s screen. Defensively, Gill can pressure ball handlers but needs to improve his paint balance and post defense due to size limitations.. A valuable fit for any entry-level league team in need of a playmaking leader.
