INTRODUCTION

C.J. Smith started his collegiate career at Western Texas College (JuCo level) before transferring to the Javelinas. He was one of the leaders for three seasons and earned accolades in the Conference best team. He is a point guard with excellent floor leadership and tempo control, capable of getting his teammates in rhythm (4 assists per game, an assist/turnover ratio of +2.49). Thanks to his skills as a handler, he can drive to the basket, being very quick and dynamic, especially when attacking with his dominant left hand. He is also reliable as a three-point shooter (33.9% on 4.7 attempts) but needs to improve his free throw percentage earned through his slashing abilities (74.8% on 5.3 attempts). On the defensive end, he can apply good pressure on the ball, but his lack of size and physicality often causes him to struggle with opponents’ screens, limiting his effectiveness. A quality player able to manage the tempo with leadership and find the basket, he is a significant addition to any entry-league team.
