INTRODUCTION: Drew Pember is most likely the best power forward within the Mid-Major Conferences. Arriving at College in Tennessee in 2019, he found his perfect fit at UNC Asheville where he grew season after season. He has significantly improved his shooting range, becoming a reliable 3-point shooter too (35%), especially given his height and his primary role. Thanks to this characteristic of him, he is able to spread the field well. Is very good in pick and pop situations where he is able to both manage the dribble and immediately shoot. He also does very well in catch and shot situations, thanks to his general vision of what is happening around him he knows how to position himself very well to receive the ball. He is an excellent area defender both in terms of managing space and in terms of actual defensive intervention with blocks and rebounds. Unfortunately, like almost all players of this height, he has some weaknesses when it comes to shooting off the dribble and managing it, especially if defended closely. Because of his position on the court he has somewhat lost his post movements. Excellent free throw shooter with 85%. Drew Pember won Big South Player of the Year, Big South Tournament MVP, Big South Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 Season.
