INTRODUCTION
Isaiah Moore played for five different teams in five years: recruited from Charleston, he spent a season in JuCo before moving to St. John’s and Southern Mississippi, ultimately ending up with the Bulldogs. The only individual recognition he received was a nomination to the third All-American team at the JuCo level, despite the fact that his last few years were statistically productive.
PHYSICAL
Isaiah Moore is very agile and reactive, athletic and able to run the court very well, and has a good wingspan which makes him a decent rim protector. He doesn’t have much physicality; he can struggle with physical contact and making solid screens, as well as being subjected to stronger big men in static game situations such as defending in the low post.
OFFENSIVE PHASE
Isaiah Moore has a mobility that makes him easy to move off the ball; he’s a good roller and can finish above the rim, often providing highlights. Able to exploit mismatches when defended by a smaller opponent thanks to decent footwork, he can attempt to shoot from beyond the three-point arc, even though over the years his average has never gone above 30% (33/113 in 83 games played). He has a good rebounding presence (2.3 last season), and while he doesn’t have great facilitation skills, he can find a teammate when doubled (1.2 assists in 2022 and 0.9 in 2023). Overall, he is a valid finisher with shooting skills in development to expand his shooting range.
DEFENSIVE PHASE
Isaiah Moore is very energetic and can have problems managing fouls, both when trying to make very deep shots and when he has to put his body against physically stronger big men. Always ready to help his teammates, he has good timing to disrupt opponents’ shots, and with the combination of elevation and wingspan, he guarantees a good number of rebounds (7.3 in 24′ last season). Not always disciplined and able to anticipate, as he gains experience, he can become a factor on his own court.
IMPROVED AREAS
Isaiah Moore must manage to build a reliable shot from beyond the arc; it would not be strange to see him reach a medium-high level in Europe. His way of being on the court makes him a modern player, and if he manages to eliminate silly fouls, he certainly has a very large upside. He can start from a mid-level league or a second division of major nations.
