INTRODUCTION

DeAndre Dishman began his college career at Eastern Kentucky before transferring in 2018 to the more ambitious Middle Tennessee State program. His debut with the Blue Raiders was delayed by more than 1,000 days due to a severe left knee injury. Once cleared to return, he immediately established himself as a central presence in the paint, starting all 81 games he played and showing steady growth in both playing time and statistical production throughout his career.

PHYSICAL

DeAndre Dishman lacks ideal height for the position but compensates by playing primarily as an interior player thanks to a well-built and powerful body, especially in his upper body. He does not show notable vertical explosiveness and runs the floor at a below-average pace, but in short spaces he displays quick and effective footwork that can create separation and surprise his direct opponent around the basket.

OFFENSIVE PHASE

DeAndre Dishman operates mainly from the low post, where he is effective at creating space to attack the rim both through physical strength and with unexpectedly dynamic footwork that allows him to beat his defender. He is a willing and capable passer out of post situations, consistently finding open teammates (2.3 assists per game). He is less effective facing the basket, as his mid-range shooting is unreliable and his free-throw percentages confirm limited touch. Dishman remains a strong presence on the offensive glass thanks to his ability to establish position, collecting 2.4 offensive rebounds per game.

DEFENSIVE PHASE

DeAndre Dishman is effective in static defensive situations, as he is difficult to move with physical contact and usually contains opponents without attempting risky shot-blocking plays, providing solid occupation of the defensive area. His lack of verticality limits both his rebounding impact and his ability to protect the rim as an intimidator, and when involved in switches on the perimeter he often struggles to keep pace. His competitive mentality and understanding of the game allow him to provide a serviceable defensive impact, but his athletic limitations remain a significant constraint.

IMPROVED AREAS

DeAndre Dishman needs to expand his shooting range, ideally by developing a reliable short jumper from four to five meters, which would help diversify an offensive profile that is currently predictable and often leads him into defensive traps (2.3 turnovers per game this season). He must also become more effective on the defensive glass, compensating for limited athleticism by improving positioning, an area in which he already shows good instincts on the offensive end. Despite the resilience and character shown in returning from a major injury, his overall athletic profile and lack of size significantly limit his potential to compete at higher levels in the European market.
