INTRODUCTION

Tajh Green split his college career between Junior College and Division II, where he played for three years at Benedict College. In the 2020/21 season, he had the most significant stats, but it was in the last season that he received recognition as the Player of the Year for the SIAC. After showcasing his talent in the HBCU showcase—where he was the MVP—sponsored by the NBA, he opted for an opportunity in Europe, signing with the Manchester Giants, and closed the first quarter with an average of 20.3 points and 8 rebounds, a solid calling card.

PHYSICAL

Tajh Green is slender but has a well-sculpted physique and possesses outstanding athleticism. A collection of highlights that leave you in awe, as English supporters have already realized, he will need to work on his coordination since at times it seems he has to hold back to avoid committing a foul. His lateral movements could also be improved, but overall, we are talking about a high-profile athlete.

OFFENSIVE PHASE

Tajh Green in open court is adrenaline-inducing but overall can score in every way. Extremely skilled at moving without the ball, he is sharp in exploiting the post when matched up against guards or putting the ball on the floor – strictly going right – to surpass slower opponents. Perhaps too in love with his isolations that he loses over two possessions per game, often in a rather irritating and naive manner. His three-point shooting is labored and with unremarkable numbers (the current 32.8% in Britain is a career high) but it provides him with a minimum of two-dimensionality offensively.

DEFENSIVE PHASE

Tajh Green has a combination of athleticism and quick feet that would make him a factor in his own half of the court. Currently, he is still too undisciplined and more prone to intimidate (1.5 blocks per game last year) than to defend on the perimeter or rotate, and in the early games in Manchester, this cost him dearly as he often fell into foul trouble. If he understands the tools at his disposal, he has everything to step up in this aspect, which at the moment is his most lacking.

IMPROVED AREAS

Tajh Green, born in ’98, seems to have enormous upside given his extraordinary athletic abilities; everything depends on his development in defense and stabilizing his shooting percentages from beyond the arc. The potential suggests that he possesses the skills of a player capable of stepping onto the courts of continental cups, but it’s up to him to bring the character needed to succeed.
