INTRODUCTION
Isaiah Washington became famous in high school in the Bronx, earning the title of Mr. New York Basketball 2017 and a four-star recruiting rating. Social media helped him rise to fame, known by the nickname Jelly Fam. However, fame proves to be a dangerous double-edged sword for the Harlem talent: three college transfers without great success and fading into obscurity for a player who technically has everything to excite.
His ball-handling skills are those of a true juggler, his explosive first step is devastating, and his finger rolls remain a sight to behold; meanwhile, his shooting percentage struggles to improve (from 28% during his college years to 34% in his first professional season). Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for his game management, as he posts impressive assists but too many turnovers (after about fifteen games, he averages 4 in Slovakia) due to forced plays, excessively high tempos, and visions that may be suitable for the playground. Defensively, he can steal the ball on passing lines and is very athletic and reactive on the boards, where he consistently grabs a significant number for his height. His character seems difficult to manage, which makes it hard to envision him at high levels in Europe, but rather as a leader of a medium-small team.
