INTRODUCTION
Tray Buchanan, after two difficult seasons at South Dakota State, has decided to step down to Emporia State (NCAA II) where he showcased his pure scoring ability. He is capable of hitting from every distance with ease, excelling in shooting from 7 meters off the dribble, and also attacking the hoop decisively thanks to a well-built physique that allows him to withstand numerous opponent contacts – nearly 10 free throws per evening, converted at a satisfactory 84% – aimed at thwarting his acrobatics. Despite his positive assist/turnover ratio, he does not possess the qualities of a primary playmaker. Defensively, he has enough physicality to hold his court, although it’s not his most comfortable area, having signed in Cyprus, it will be interesting to see the trajectory of what could potentially be one of the best scorers in European basketball.
