After 28 editions and seven months of weekly tracking, the Team of the Week format has reached the end of its cycle. With clubs already working toward next season’s market, the Weekly Update now shifts toward a more direct scouting format. From this point on, each week will feature shortlists built around leagues, roles, and market contexts, designed to offer clubs a clearer and more practical reading of the player pool.
Scouting Shortlist
This first shortlist focuses on four G-League guards whose profiles look particularly interesting for Europe, based on role, translatability, and realistic market fit.
Jarkel Joiner | 6’1 – 185 cm | Raptors 905 | Lead guard
Fit: Lead guard for a team needing leadership, shooting range, tempo, and late-clock responsibility.
Experienced guard with three G-League seasons behind him, a strong leadership profile, and reliable perimeter scoring value (35.4% 3P). Can shoot, control tempo, get to the line, and protect possessions, but is less effective when forced to create separation in pure 1v1 situations.
Strengths:
• Leadership and late-game poise
• Shooting range and free throws
• Low-turnover ball handling
Risk:
• Physical limitations and defensive discipline against bigger, stronger guards
Symir Torrence | 6’3 – 191 cm | Motor City Cruise | Lead guard
Fit: Big lead guard for a team needing passing, size at the point, rebounding, and defensive versatility.
Pass-first guard with strong pick-and-roll vision, physical tools, and the size to impact matchups on both ends. Can involve teammates and rebound well for the position, but his scoring efficiency and shooting profile still limit the offensive ceiling.
Strengths:
• Pick-and-roll playmaking
• Size and physicality at guard
• Defensive versatility and rebounding
Risk:
• Limited scoring efficiency, questionable shot selection, and turnover management
Blaise Threatt | 6’3 – 191 cm | Sioux Falls Skyforce | Combo guard
Fit: Physical combo guard for a team needing rim pressure, defensive activity, and low-mistake ball handling.
Strong guard with good versatility, finishing ability, and real value in transition. Can manage possessions and defend multiple perimeter matchups, but his playmaking remains fairly basic and the shooting profile still needs more consistency.
Strengths:
• Rim finishing through contact
• Possession management
• Defensive activity and rebounding
Risk:
• 3P consistency, limited playmaking creativity, and free-throw reliability
Issac McBride | 6’1 – 185 cm | Santa Cruz Warriors | Combo guard
Fit: Scoring combo guard for a team needing on-ball shot creation, pick-and-roll scoring, and perimeter shooting.
High-usage scorer with strong ball handling, three-point range, and clear leadership value. Can create his own offense in pick-and-roll and mix pull-ups with floaters, but projects more as a scoring guard than a natural organizer.
Strengths:
• On-ball scoring
• 3P shooting
• Pick-and-roll creation
Risk:
• Limited playmaking feel and occasional passiveness away from the ball
