INTRODUCTION
Warren Washington is an old-school center with excellent post skills and good rim protector ability, but he needs to improve his shot. At Texas Tech he played a solid season in a pretty competitive conference. His ability to control the area allowed him to collect 7.5 rebounds and block 1.5 shots per game, becoming one of the pillars of the Riders’ defense. His good court vision allows him to always find the right position to receive the ball and free up space for his teammates. Thanks to this skill he also manages to pass the ball for 1.7 assists. Which is no small feat for a player of this type. He doesn’t have a dangerous shot other than from under the backboard where he exceeds 60%. In his career he has never shot 3-pointers and this makes him a one-dimensional player with few offensive options. Warren Washington is overall a great pick and roll player where he shows his full potential. Unfortunately, even at free throws he shows a certain difficulty with a career percentage of 65% but unfortunately decreasing in recent seasons.
