INTRODUCTION
Alexander Ducas is an Australian wing who comes off 5 seasons of college basketball at Saint’s Mary. His numbers and statistics have been on the rise until his fourth year, culminating and expanding his game (improved in assists and rebounding) in his final college season.
Transitioning to his characteristics, Ducas is definitely an elite three-point shooter in college basketball. Over his 5 years in college, he shot a combined 40.6% from beyond the arc on 4.6 attempts per game. This season, he closed with 43.8% on 5.4 attempts per game.
Offensively, his game is limited and focused on perimeter play. He has also improved significantly in passing/assists, with good vision also in pick and roll situations, making him a good facilitator for his position (1.9 assists per game). Given his characteristics, he rarely goes to the free-throw line (0.9 free throw attempts per game).
Defensively, he proves to be a solid player, with a strong physique, and is also a good rebounder (5.6 per game). He can be dynamic and ideal for systematic switches.
He has already debuted for the Australian national team.
Personally, I believe the role and label of a pure shooter may be too narrow for him; he could be more involved in the offensive game, like an additional playmaker.
