INTRODUCTION
Darin Green is a shooting guard from Florida State, in his final college year. In his first 3 seasons, he played at UCF before continuing his journey at Florida State. He is a solid player ready for the transition to professional basketball.
Offensively, he is an elite shooter (shooting 38% from three on 6.4 attempts and never below 36% in his college career) both off the dribble and on catch-and-shoot situations (11.3 points per game). He doesn’t need to have the ball in his hands to be impactful and he has the ability to ‘wait’ for the game, averaging only 1.1 turnover per 30 minutes played. This sometimes leads him to be too passive.
He doesn’t frequent the free-throw line much, with only 1.1 free throws per game, indicating his predominantly perimeter-oriented play. This season, he is shooting at 71.4% from the free-throw line (probably somewhat misleading, given his excellent percentages in previous seasons – 88.6% last year).
His physicality and energy make him a factor on the defensive end (1.4 steals), capable of defending at least 3 positions. He often makes his presence felt among teammates, communicating both in the defensive and offensive halves, a sign of high basketball IQ.
