POTENTIAL
INTRODUCTION
Darweshi Hunter began his career in NCAA Division-II at Central State, where he scored 20.7 ppg and was named freshman of the year and to the SIAC first team. He then transferred to Weber State without finding playing time, spent two seasons at Northern Illinois, and concluded as a graduate student with the RedHawks. Starter in all 32 games, he received an honorable mention for the Mid-American Conference
PHYSICAL
Darweshi Hunter is a swingman with interesting athletic abilities, runs well in the open court, and has good coordination that allows him to stop in a short space. Mobile, he has the dynamism necessary to follow the opponent in cuts and can use a decent size to approach the rim despite not having a strong physicality and he struggles to absorb the physical contact.
OFFENSIVE PHASE
Darweshi Hunter is a reliable three-point shooter, excelling in spot-up situations but also capable of creating space off the dribble or hitting shots from a hand-off set or coming off the screens (35.6% on 5.6 attempts in his last year, previously shooting 42.1% on 4.1 attempts). With his uncertain ball-handling with his weak hand, he tends to attack consistently to the right side, but his coordination and quick stop make him an elegant and smooth mid-range shooter. He is good at covering the court in fast breaks and has enough athleticism to finish above the rim, although this occurs less frequently against set defenses due to his limited slashing ability. He is able to score buckets in a row if he finds his rhythm. Decent in terms of court vision (1.6 assists per game) and possession management (1.1 turnovers).
DEFENSIVE PHASE
Darweshi Hunter is a versatile defender capable of covering multiple types of opponents thanks to his combination of size and athleticism. Active on passing lanes with his good wingspan, he can apply pressure and has decent lateral mobility to defend on the perimeter. Fairly disciplined in rotations, he doesn’t take too many risks, and he has a decent presence on the boards (4.4 per game). Potentially he has all the tools to be a factor in his own half in the next few years.
IMPROVED AREAS
Darweshi Hunter is an interesting 3&D project due to his combination of three-point shooting and defensive versatility. He doesn’t have a natural talent to accumulate big figures or a significant upside, but he can be a valuable glue-guy in many team settings thanks to his basketball IQ. Starting in a lower league in Europe could be the first step to climbing the levels in the following years.

Pretty good assessment. However Darweshi is definitely a natural scorer just has not been in great situations to show it at NIU and Miami.
He just needs opportunities to show his skills. He has averaged 20 points a game his entire life until playing for sub par college systems. He is as good of a guard as any in this Draft. If given the opportunity to go head to head with any of them in a camp or tryout I’m sure he would do more than hold his own.
Thank you for your reply. I’m focused on how his versatility can help to reach a good European level with his shooting capacity and good basketball IQ (ratio assist/turnover help to understand his good predisposition to be an excellent teammate). In my opinion scoring it’s not the most important skill to have but IQ, versatility and a reliable 3P shot are the skills to be a perfect fit in every team
