INTRODUCTION: Isaac Jones is a center in his senior season at Washington State University. Jones played three seasons at Wenatchee Valley, where he was named the 2021 NWAC Player of the Year, East Region Most Valuable Player, and Defensive Player of the Year. He then transferred to Idaho (NCAA), where he was named to the All-Big Sky Second Team, averaging 19.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game.
Jones is a dynamic “5”,but lacks an outside shot (only one shoot scored this season at WSU). He certainly stands out for his offensive skills, with an exceptional post game, including spin moves, hook shots, and the ability to attack 1-on-1 towards the basket. He has quick feet that hypothetically could make him a good roller, but this offensive option is not utilized in WSU’s game plan. Nevertheless, he is an effective player, scoring 15.3 points on 9.9 attempts per game. He frequently gets to the free-throw line, shooting at 71.2%.
Defensively, he is still a good shot blocker, thanks to his solid athletic abilities (1.1 blocks per game). Paradoxically, he is a better offensive rebounder (2.3 per game) than defensive (5.3 per game).
Overall, he is a decisive player in a winning context like Washington State. He is already an experienced player and ready for the professional basketball level, as evidenced by his two games in the 2024 NCAA Tournament (20 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks against Drake and 8 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks against Iowa State).
