INTRODUCTION
Kalib Boone is a senior in his final season at College and plays as a center. After four seasons at Oklahoma State, he transferred to UNLV for his last year. His statistics, much like in the previous season at Oklahoma State, may not fully reflect his value. He is a crucial player on both ends of the court for UNLV.
Defensively, he sometimes lacks consistency; his eagerness to help teammates often leads him to lose rebounding position (only 5.2 rebounds per game, including 2.2 offensive rebounds, in 23.9 minutes). However, this characteristic, along with his athleticism, makes him an excellent rim-protector, even from the weak side (1.6 blocks per game).
Offensively, he has yet to develop a three-point shot. His mobility and dynamism make him a solid pick-and-roll/handoff player (no pop). He also has an inside/post presence, with decent moves in the low post, although he may be less effective against heavier opponents.
His free-throw percentage is good (70.5%). Overall, Kalib Boone is an efficient player, capable of scoring at least 0.5 points per minute in the last three seasons (0.51 points per minute this season – 12.1 points per game).
