INTRODUCTION: Matthew Murrell is a fourth-year college basketball guard at Ole Miss. Recruited as a 4-star prospect.

He is a high-level player, already ready for professional basketball, both physically and in terms of playing style.
Murrell is one of the best sharpshooters in college basketball, with a wide range of shooting abilities. Excellent pull-up three-pointer, capable of shooting both off the dribble and catch and shoot. He shoots with 39.9% from three on over 6 attempts per game.

He is an excellent 1-on-1 defender with good physicality – 1.7 steals per game (including 10 against Troy). However, he sometimes lacks in certain defensive reads and help defense. Not an exceptional rebounder (still averages 3.8 per game), despite having good physicality and athletic abilities. He is an average assistman.

On offense, it would be reductive to say that he has a one-dimensional game, but his game certainly favors three-point shooting. However, he can still attack the rim, both with a jump shot and by using his physicality.

He is not a selfish player or a ball hog, and he can integrate well into an offensive system with other scoring options (averages 16.9 points on 12.5 shots per game).
