INTRODUCTION

Johnell Davis is a combo guard with excellent ability to lead the team well especially in the offensive game. He has excellent 3-point shooting ability without distance and position problems. During the season he maintained an average above 40%. He is not a pure point guard but even in the ball handling phase he can be useful. However, he must improve his ball management. The 2.5 turnovers per game are too many at any level. He is a player with good positional sense and against smaller players he can even surprise as a rebounder. Unfortunately he doesn’t have a good attitude in the defensive phase of the game but if placed in the right context he is a player capable of taking charge of the team’s attack. His free throw skill is also important. He scores almost 4 per game and has an 86% scoring percentage. In the 2022-23 season Johnell Davis won Sixth Man of the Year and was selected to the Conference USA First Team.
