INTRODUCTION

Noah Locke is a guard with extensive experience at the highest NCAA level, having played at Florida, Louisville and finishing his college career at Providence. He consistently filled co-star roles and was never selected to All-Conference teams in the major NCAA leagues, but he concluded his five-year college journey averaging double figures (10.2 points per game) while shooting an excellent 38.6% from 3-P range on 5.9 attempts across 157 games. He has already begun his professional career in Hungary, marking his transition to the European basketball market.

PHYSICAL

Noah Locke has a solid and well-structured body that allows him to absorb contact despite lacking ideal height and overall size for the guard position. He is not an elite athlete and does not possess top-end speed, but he compensates with strong basketball IQ and the ability to read situations and occupy the correct spaces on the floor. His first step is limited, and while his lateral mobility is acceptable, his reactivity, active hands and ability to chase long rebounds or disrupt passing lanes stand out.

OFFENSIVE PHASE

More than half of Noah Locke’s shot attempts come from beyond the three-point arc, shooting 38.5% on 5.7 attempts per game in his final season. He is most effective in spot-up and catch-and-shoot situations coming off screens, showing excellent off-ball movement and spatial awareness to create passing lanes for teammates. He can create a shot off the dribble, although this is not his primary strength. He can attack the rim against lighter defenders, but his limited free-throw production (around one attempt per game) highlights modest slashing ability. He is not a primary ball handler and only occasionally runs pick-and-roll, with most of his assists (0.9 per game last season) coming from extra passes. He takes care of the ball extremely well, never averaging more than one turnover per game during his NCAA career. Overall, he projects as a reliable high-level shooting specialist for European basketball.

DEFENSIVE PHASE

Noah Locke is a solid and dependable defender with the tools to guard most backcourt opponents in both single coverage and team defensive schemes. He can struggle against bigger guards but does not hesitate to use his body to compete physically. He shows good reactivity on long rebounds (2.4 per game last season) and provides consistent defensive effort. While he is unlikely to be a defensive difference-maker, he is a trustworthy player who executes assigned defensive tasks effectively.

IMPROVED AREAS

Improving his ball-handling and decision-making could allow Noah Locke to spend minutes as a secondary point guard, a valuable development for a player of his physical profile. Enhancing his first step would help him become a more complete offensive threat beyond shooting and cutting. With these improvements, he has the potential to establish himself as a solid mid-level player in European basketball.
