LAST UPDATE JUNE 2023
INTRODUCTION: Former of Sacred Heart where was nominated in the NEC second team in 2019 and in the first team in 2020. He moved to Tennessee but didn’t find minutes and for his super-senior year moved to CAL-Fullerton where drives the Titans to the title of the conference and he was nominated MVP of the tournament.
PHYSICAL: Excellent body tools, an intriguing combo of physicality and athleticism. In open court he runs well and he’s very efficient in fast-break. He has good elevation, quick hands and good lateral mobility; he’s not very tall but compensated with a good motor and energetic play style.
OFFENSIVE PHASE: Good skills as iso-player, solid scorer off the dribble with his strong body he likes to attack the glass and absorb the contact. He manages to be incisive even from the low post, he prefers a fade-away but when defended by a less physical opponent he can go to the basket but not use a lot of pump fakes. He has a fairly aggressive way of playing and this allows him to earn a good number of free throws. As a screener in pick and roll situations he showed decent court vision on short rolls (1.4 assist), finishing from mid-range is quite mechanical but effective. Both as a spot-up and from the dribble, he shoots from beyond the arc with mediocre percentages (28.8% on 5.5 attempts). Decent handle and he has time to pass when doubled.
DEFENSIVE PHASE: In 1vs1 situations he is a good defender able to hold the direct opponent with active hands and lateral mobility. He can switch on the perimeter and limit a point-guard like body-busting a big-man in mismatch situations. Struggles in helps and defensive rotations, he tends to have empty mind-passes and open the way for simple baskets. Strong rebounder (5.7 in 24’), solid on the box-out. He can guard multiple positions but has to improve his defensive discipline.
IMPROVED AREAS: He must work on his 3 point shot percentage or limit his shooting selections, at the moment 5.5 attempts per match is a crazy number with the 28.8% and it’s the most evident area to improve. He is a very energetic player with good references as a worker, in defense his excellent combination of mobility and physicality helps to be versatile.
