INTRODUCTION

Fletcher Abee is a shooting guard from UNC Asheville. He began his college career at The Citadel, where he played for two seasons before transferring to UNC Asheville for his junior and senior seasons (after a year off due to the transfer).
Abee is a pure shooter, not endowed with great athleticism. In addition to being an excellent three-point shooter, with 41.6% and 40.8% accuracy in his two seasons at UNC (on 3.9 and 5.4 attempts per game), Abee is also a good mid-range shooter both off the dribble after a pick-and-roll and coming off screens. He shot 96% from the free-throw line.
His threat from beyond the arc forces his defender to stay close, preventing them from helping on defense and creating interesting spacing. On offense, he uses few dribbles (0.8 turnovers per game) and, when he receives the ball, he tends to create a catch-and-shoot opportunity or a mid-range shot (hence only 1.3 assists). He is capable of breaking the game open when in rhythm.
However, during the season, he did not demonstrate consistency, with some great performances (including a 32-point game) and some underwhelming ones. He has a good understanding of the game – in addition to being an excellent student academically.
Defensively, despite his average physical attributes, he puts in the effort.
