INTRODUCTION
Andre Henry is a swingman from UC Irvine. Now in his fourth season at UC Irvine, he will begin his fifth and final year. However, in his first three seasons, he found limited playing time, with a maximum of 3.5 points in 12.8 minutes during his junior year. He has the physique of a combo guard, although he’s not a primary ball-handler, as shown by his low assist numbers (0.9 assists). He is a useful player but at the same time somewhat ‘invisible.’ He touches the ball few times (only 0.8 turnovers), but with a high shooting percentage, scoring 10.3 points in his last season. He’s an excellent three-point shooter (42.1%), though he doesn’t overuse it (only 3.4 attempts per game). The three-point shot is a skill he has worked on extensively during his college career. He has a good catch-and-shoot ability, but he also doesn’t shy away from taking shots off the dribble. His pull-up jump shot is excellent, especially from mid-range, where he creates separation.
On the defensive end, despite having average physical and athletic abilities, he seems to be a diligent defender. He was even named Big West Best Defensive Player in 2024. At times, he may seem shy on the court. As of now, he is certainly not a go-to guy, but he is a system player who doesn’t need the ball in his hands to be effective. Despite being a senior, he has limited playing experience in his first three years of college, so he still has room for growth. With increased physicality, he could become an excellent 3&D player. His progress in his final college season should be closely monitored.
