INTRODUCTION
Eric Dixon is an undersized big man from Villanova, where he played for four seasons. He was elected to the Second-team All-Big East in 2023 and 2024.
Dixon has significantly improved his mobility (and also his defensive phase) over the years. He has increasingly developed and relied on his three-point shot; in fact, he finished the season with a 34.6% three-point shooting percentage on 4.7 attempts (37.8% in his junior season). It may not always be the most effective solution, but he is a big man who can combine post play with three-point shooting.
His post game is characterized by physicality and strength, but also good skills (he shoots 55% from two-point range). He has good ball-handling and vision for his role and size (1.7 assists with 1.8 turnover), especially when double-teamed in the post or in “high-low” situations. He scores 16.6 points per game.
As mentioned, he is a dynamic big man, which often leads him to move out of the paint; consequently, he only grabs 4.4 defensive rebounds per game (but also adds 2.1 offensive rebounds). He is not a rim protector (sometimes his timing is off – 0.4 blocks per game).
Over the years, he has shown significant improvements both physically and in his game. He has the potential to establish himself as an important player in the European context.
