INTRODUCTION
Keshad Johnson is a forward coming from Arizona, where he played his fifth college season after four seasons at San Diego State. At Arizona, he showed significant improvements compared to his seasons at SDSU, especially in outside shooting: he increased from 18.2% in the 21/22 season to 38.7% on 2.6 attempts per game at Arizona.
Johnson is a modern “stretch 4” who combines physical strength and defense with three-point shooting threat. What impresses most about Johnson is certainly his defensive phase (both in terms of physicality and game understanding), where he can essentially defend any opponent. He is a tactical weapon on pick-and-rolls (easily able to switch defensively). He is also a vertical player (0.7 blocks per game). Johnson is not a great ball-handler and lacks initiative when handling the ball. Offensively, he has built a reliable three-point shot (38.7% average and 11.5 points per game) on kick-outs, indicative of dedication and hard work in the gym. His release is still somewhat mechanical and not particularly quick.
Sometimes, he can also be the roller in a pick-and-roll (or even a pop) thanks to his athleticism. He is not, and never will be, a primary scoring option, but he is a very useful and solid player, accustomed to playing in winning contexts.
