INTRODUCTION: Kane Milling is a shooting guard from UC Davis. Born in France (Nantes – French passport), son of Kyle Milling (former Oregon player and professional in France), he played in the youth teams of Limoges and Hyres-Toulon. He then decided to start his college career at Nevada, where he spent two seasons (averaging 4.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1 assist as a sophomore). He then transferred to UC Davis where, in three seasons, he managed to carve out an important role (9.8 points in 32 minutes).
Milling is a left-handed shooter, effective both coming off screens and on step-backs. He prefers to attack with a pull-up jump shot (mid-range) rather than driving to the basket. Although he may be “labeled” as a shooter, his percentages are not exceptional (34.3% on 4.1 attempts per game). However, he is a more complete player than just a shooter, who can contribute on the basketball court (3.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists).
Defensively, his athletic abilities are not remarkable, but he still holds his own on the defensive end, adding 0.9 steals per game. Not a bad defender even though his athletic abilities are limited. The statistics may not be impressive, but, if not limited to those, he is a player who could do well in Europe – French passport.
