INTRODUCTION: Johni Broome is a player ready and complete to be able to be decisive and important even at higher level. An exceptional body supported by a very well trained post movement technique. His physical skills help him in defending the paint and in controlling rebounds both offensively and defensively. If necessary he can also start the action with some dribbles from the baseline but it is certainly not a skill to rely on. Inside the area he manages to make a loud statement and finish at the rim with good continuity, reaching close to 60% shooting. By playing very internally he manages to get a good number of fouls and shoot over 5 free throws per game. Despite this, the free throw percentage is 61%, which can certainly be improved. In his second season at Auburn he tried and found a way to ignite his 3-point shooting skills with excellent results for this type of player. Equipped with decent agility of foot, he suffers above all in defense against faster players. Once he puts the ball on the ground he is a very vulnerable player. Johni Broome won SEC Tournament MVP and was selected to the SEC All Defensive Team in 2024.
