INTRODUCTION

D’Andre (Dre) Davis is a senior forward from Seton Hall. Davis began his college career at Louisville, where he spent two seasons averaging 7.4 points and 3 rebounds per game as a sophomore. He then transferred to Seton Hall, where after a season of adjustment (with only one starting five in his junior year), he managed to carve out a significant role in the victory of the NIT title, averaging 15 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.
Let’s start with the aspect of his game that I find most interesting and ingrained in his DNA: defense. Davis is a high-level defender who combines energy, aggressiveness and dynamism. Thanks to his athletic abilities, he can defend at least 4 positions; therefore, he’s capable of being a defensive asset in systematic switching situations. He’s also skilled at running in transition after a steal (0.9 steals per game).
Offensively, he has shown significant improvement compared to his years at Louisville, particularly in his three-point shooting, going from 20-25% at Louisville to 35-40% at Seton Hall. This can also be indicative of his work ethic (his free-throw shooting has also improved from 75% to 85%). He has a good post-game, where he’s also adept at finding assists both on the perimeter and inside. He’s also effective in one-on-one situations, combining physical strength and athleticism (although his ballhandling could use some improvement).
He’s a player who can be decisive even without being the main protagonist.
