INTRODUCTION

Themus Fulks is a dynamic point guard who began his collegiate career at South Carolina State, being named to the All-Team Rookie MEAC in his freshman season. He then transferred to a Community College, where he earned Second Team All-American honors. He continued his ascent at Louisiana, leading the Sun Belt Conference in assists during the 2022-23 season, finding Jordan Brown to be the ideal teammate for his passes. In his senior year, he transferred to the Panthers, where he has been a standout at the start of the season alongside another transfer like A.J. McKee which earned him a spot on the Horizon League Second Team. Finally, after entering the transfer portal, he moved to the Knights for his graduate season.

PHYSICAL

Themus Fulks possesses a lean and agile frame ideal for the point guard position. His quickness and agility enable him to navigate through defenses effectively, while his speed facilitates fast-break opportunities. Although not the most physically imposing player, his athleticism allows him to compete effectively on both ends of the court. He has good lateral mobility and quick hands. Adding muscle mass could enhance his ability to absorb contact when driving to the basket and improve his defensive presence against stronger opponents.

OFFENSIVE PHASE

Themus Fulks is an interesting floor general prospect, having showcased his playmaking abilities over the years. At Louisiana, he led the Sun Belt Conference in assists in 2023 and was third in 2024 (averaging 5.3 per game over the two seasons), demonstrating his vision and ability to orchestrate the offense. His scoring ability is tied to his quickness and skill in reading defenses and attacking the basket. His athleticism allows him to be effective in one-on-one situations, and with his ball-handling, he is able to utilize screens effectively. He struggles to create his own mid-range jumper, and his size does not help; his three-point shot is not very consistent (25.9% on 1.7 attempts). Improving his perimeter shooting could make him a more versatile scorer and would help him avoid handling possessions in a risky manner that can lead to turnovers in traffic (3.4 per game last year).

DEFENSIVE PHASE

Themus Fulks utilizes his lateral mobility and quick hands to stay in front of opposing guards, demonstrating solid on-ball defense on the perimeter. His anticipation skills contribute to disrupting passing lanes, although his steal numbers (1.4 per game last season) suggest there is room for increased defensive aggression. His size may pose challenges when defending larger guards, but his effort and understanding of defensive rotations help mitigate this disadvantage. Enhancing his strength and reactivity could further bolster his defensive capabilities despite not being able to rely on significant size.

IMPROVED AREAS

In summary, Themus Fulks is a quick and agile point guard with solid playmaking abilities and a strong ability to attack the basket. However, to elevate his game to the professional level, he must address several key areas. Improving his three-point shooting and overall scoring consistency would make him a more versatile offensive threat. Additionally, reducing turnovers by improving his decision-making in traffic will be essential for maximizing his impact as a floor general. Finally, strengthening his frame would enhance his ability to absorb contact and defend against bigger guards. With these adjustments, he has the potential to have a solid career in Europe, possibly starting from a mid-to-low-level league where he can gain confidence in the overseas game.
