INTRODUCTION
Max Abmas is undoubtedly one of the most prolific scorers in the entire NCAA landscape. A couple of steps beyond half court, he can comfortably shoot, but this self-confidence often leads him to make reckless choices, and his shot selection is improvable. He excels when receiving the ball in motion and has proven effective off the dribble; he avoids driving into traffic, hampered by his physicality and speed (he doesn’t have a lightning-quick first step given his build), and while he possesses some deep playmaking instincts that need to be explored, currently he tends to be too selfish. Defensively, he is rather passive, at times irritating because if he can do little against mismatches, at least in situations of anticipation or pressure on his direct opponent, he should assert himself. It’s a senior year, and if there are no significant improvements in his team play, he will likely have to cross the ocean to become a professional.
